We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. -Augustine

Be on Guard

A pastor sent me this warning earlier today. I think it would be good to share; you may want to pass it on. As I was praying for you and your ministry I was prompted to pray for three specific things 1. “Lust of the eyes” I was to pray that you would not allow any form of greed to cause you to want a bigger piece of the pie. No doubt God desires to expand the ministry and impact a larger number of people, but on His schedule. Patience and perseverance are to reign over expansion and growth at the expense of God’s timetable. 2. “Lust of the flesh” The more upfront and important someone becomes (at least in the eyes of the world) the more appealing that person becomes to needy women. Their desire to rub shoulders with leaders and to gain their attention is a dangerous attraction. Their real but often selfish need has caused many men to fall. I’m sure you are aware of plenty and my time in Life Action saw way too many. My prayer is that your spirit will be sensitive and quick to recognize this possible entanglement. 3.”Pride of life” God has given you a tremendous platform to reach many. If you ever lose the heart it is all about Him and none about you; you will be in trouble. I pray that you remain near to the heart of God and that all praise is deflected back to Him and that daily you humbly give it all to Him and accept only the words that He offers you as commendation for your obedience. I believe that you daily submit yourself to the protection of God’s Word in these areas. But it never hurts to be reminded and challenged to take inventory.

Wow! Theatre Blog

Wow! I just found out that we have a Lamplighter Theatre blog that is filled with some very interesting information. I knew that they were writing something behind the scenes but I had no idea it was this in depth. I think you will enjoy rummaging through some of the unique material (audio, video, and text) Jared has put together.
