We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. -Augustine

Today I was reminded that God is good and in Him is no darkness at all. First I need to give you a little background. For the past two years I have been using mushroom soil for my garden. Since mid June until mid July I have had over 100 zucchini’s and now mid July I can’t keep up with the tomato’s and cucumbers! Other than the incredible growth in size and numbers, today is a day that left an indelible mark upon my taste buds! With an heirloom tomato, fresh cucumber, fresh homegrown basil and thyme, on fresh baked Italian bread with a spread of Caesar’s salad dressing…and salt and pepper…after the first bite I thought I had died and gone to heaven! What kind of God creates textures and tastes that bring such deep satisfaction to the soul? A good and gracious God is He…a God who desires for us to enjoy Him as much as He desires to enjoy us.  2nd Peter 1 is an excellent chapter that parallels these thoughts.
